Beer, rum and espresso martinis have formed the cornerstones of the past weekend's fluid intake - which is still felt on my aging body. Friday I was with my fellow students and nationality colleague Anders and two Germans on the bar in the überhippe Fitzroy district. It ended up being late - with good rum and relaxing moments.
Andy age of 29 on Sunday and we celebrated m video Saturday. Fiona had booked the room for us and about 25 guests at the quite excellent bar The Aviary. Here was this young gentleman celebrated appropriately. It was a really lovely evening, where I among others were introduced to both family and most friends. m video It's great to know them, because it seems that the house on Erin Street is open and inviting. I worked also wasting quarter espresso m video martini out of my snow-white shirt due to a series of unfortunate coincidences including grand gestures and hassle of hand-to-mouth coordination. I am a knoll to take pictures during the festivities, so I have to make do with my descriptions.
After a festive weekend so it seemed natural to use it also melbournianske electropop band Cut Copy as this blogindlægs background music. I have one of my finest concert memories of a Cut Copy concert with my best friend Rune. I hope I get the chance again to see them down here.
No trip to Australia without also experience the Danish standard from very disparate nature. The experience I took the hole on Friday when I visited Healsville Sanctuary with all the other exchange students. In the gallery m video below you can see all the naughty little animals that we spotted. I was not allowed to hold a koala or boxing with kangaroos, but it will hopefully plenty of opportunities later on my journey.

Additionally, I have been quite so highbrow. Melbourne International Film Festival started Thursday last and I have already m video been to the first two performances. You get a discount as a student, so it seemed obvious. Friday I went in and saw the French filmmaker Michel Gondry's new film Mood Indigo m video (in Danish Foam of Days). It's m video a (carbon) black French drama-comedy that one might be in the mood to swallow. But I enjoyed it and it was tailored to my mind at night. I also tried something new: Going to the movies alone. It's not as bad as it sounds - at least not in the case of films of the type and caliber.
Sunday I nipped with Paul and Bec a film festival Danish feature, Michael Noer Northwest, which I could not see when it went home. It is, as most Danish films that do well outside the country, harsh and illustrates the dark side of society and the human mind. But certainly an attraction movie where special drama performances impressed. My problem with Danish film - or rather with Danish-language manuscripts - is often that I do not believe in dialogue. It's hard to catch the Danish language many nuances and agree entirety of the text-converted-to-dialogue, but in the West it works sometimes excellent. Especially the nearest typecastede Roland Miller in the role of rocker-type m video bear playing scary good.
After a weekend that has stood in the celebration m video character, it is now time for the start of school - so seriously. After a few weeks, which have been especially holiday embossed, I'm looking forward to take off. I am here after all, primarily m video to study. With it follows hopefully a normal life, because as Turèll says: I love everyday.
